Designing The Future With Awareness Of The Past
Located at Ataşehir, one of the dynamic business and living centers of Istanbul’s Asian side, Radisson Blu Hotel Asia’s architectural and interior design projects have been undertaken by Metex Design Group and carried out in a perfect harmony with its surroundings in physical and social terms. Since it is a business hotel located in a residential area, its dynamic design codes have been developed in order to emphasize its commercial function and differentiate and bring the building to the fore while the connection between its interiors and exteriors have been strengthened by innovative ideas.
Instead of a transparent structure, the shell-cage design facilitates the dominance of temperature and sunlight depending on the sun’s angle of incidence and movement and has shaped the facade architecture with irregular horizontal and vertical lines. The outer shell offering a high performance in this way adds value to the building not only thanks to its modern and aesthetical form but also its functionality. The construction of the hotel began in 2009 and was finished in 2012. Consisting of 23 storeys in total including a parking lot, a storage room, a health club, a ball room, a lobby-reception, meeting rooms and 14 storeys reserved for 195 hotel rooms, the hotel has been designed for a cozy and comfortable experience of stay thanks to its modern interior design and colour tones matched with natural materials such as marble, wood, glass and metal.
